CARROLL COUNTY — Paralympic athletes Kirsten Sass and Amy Dixon coached the No Sight No Limits triathlon camp in Carroll County, June 11 and 12. Amy Dixon, an elite blind paratriathlete and 8-time World Triathlon gold medalist, founded Camp No Sight No Limits in 2017 to help visually-impaired athletes and guides train for future competitions. more

The McKenzie Youth Baseball League held its closing ceremonies Tuesday, May 31. At the ceremony, All-Star teams were announced and recognized for T-Ball, 7-8 Year Old Coach Pitch, and 9-10 Year Old groups. more

HUNTINGDON (June 2) — With a combined 88 years of service, Mike Williams and Danny Brawner were both honored Thursday, June 2 for their service to Carroll County Electric Department. Both were in leadership of the utility company. more
Nikolas Heath of McKenzie is one of the two interns from the University of Tennessee at Martin (UTM) selected by L.I. Smith & Associates (LIS) for the summer term. The interns will learn from experienced industry professionals while gaining hands-on experience in their chosen fields of study. more
HUNTINGDON (June 6) — An ongoing joint investigation by special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Drug Investigation Division, Huntingdon Police Department, McKenzie Police Department, and Henderson County Sheriff’s Office has resulted in the arrest of two women in Huntingdon. more
Fresh from finishing her doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Dr. Katelyn Ridley Robertson is returning to Carroll County to begin her practice at Webb Dental Clinic in Huntingdon. SOUTH PITTSBURG (June 4) — After a single-vehicle crash in South Pittsburg early Saturday, four young men ages 16-22 were killed and one was critically injured. All four were current and former members of the South Pittsburg High School football team, which competed against the McKenzie High School Rebels in the Class 1A State Championship in December 2021. more
MARTIN — Jimmy Tosh is known as a successful businessman and family farmer through his association with Tosh Family Farms in Henry, Tennessee. He’s also known for his generosity and his support for his alma mater, the University of Tennessee at Martin. Tosh was honored May 5 when the Tosh Family Classroom was officially named during an early afternoon program in UT Martin’s Brehm Hall. The event included Tosh, family members and university Chancellor Keith Carver. more

HUNTINGDON (May 24) — Hundreds of citizens of Carroll County sought answers to their questions about the Carroll County 1000-Acre Recreational Lake. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency will soon own the fishing and recreational lake, and their inventory of managed lakes in Tennessee does not include any lakes for swimming, skiing, or pleasure boating. TWRA hosted an event on May 24 at the Carroll County Civic Center to hear the public’s comments. more
