McKENZIE (May 18) — A meet and greet was held at the Hometown Hangout for two new head coaches at McKenzie High School. Dru Emerson, former assistant Lady Rebels basketball coach, was promoted to head coach. Coach Justin Lowery is joining the Rebels staff from Gibson Co. High School, where he has been head coach for the Pioneers basketball team since 2012. Lowery is the new head coach of the Rebels basketball team. more

Six local high school baseball and softball teams are headed to Murfreesboro this week to participate in the TSSAA State Championship Series. McKENZIE (May 15) — The McKenzie Rebel High School Baseball team played the Richland Raiders in a double header for a shot at the TSSAA State Championship Tournament. In a best out of three format, the Rebels were able to two from the Raiders to advance to championship series. more

McKENZIE (May 11) — On Saturday, the Rebels faced Collinwood in the Region 6A Championship. Tate Surber pitched for McKenzie and had 13 strikeouts as the Rebels took the 7-0 win and title. more

McKENZIE (May 10) — On Friday, the McKenzie Rebel faced off against Perry County in the Region 6A Semi-Final. Jake Cassidy pitched a one hit game with eleven strikeouts claiming the 9-0 victory. more
